Twenty years ago, I was looking for a fresh challenge in my life and I sought something that would keep me on my toes and increase my level of stress (although you would think my golf game would take care of that!).
My search led me to the printing industry, which was the perfect solution. I quickly found that our clients needed our guidance in managing their inventories for both on-time and organized, economical ordering. Proper account management ensures that we don't need to place rush orders and our customers don't make wasted purchases. It has also helped to relieve that stress thing I thought I needed!
When I'm away from the office, I've found my fly-in fishing trip to northern Canada and my Harley make the tensions flow out and rejuvenate me for my return to my little pod (can you say . . . Dilbert?).
I now feel I'm a manager of value-added service. If I'm in control, my customers will not be responsible for rush charges.
