Mary Furmanski
Graphic Artist

I have been in the graphic arts industry for 32 years, way back when "cut & paste" meant keylining and "importing photos and logos" meant literally cutting them out and pasting them down.
The very first machine I used was a Varityper and my title was Typesetter. There was no such thing as memory; if you messed up, you totally reset whatever you were working on. You drew forms and cut rubies for screens by hand.
Then along came THE COMPUTER; oh my, how times have changed! The saying goes "It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks" - well, I proved them wrong. Believe you me it wasn't easy, but after many, many migraine headaches and a whole lot of frustration, my Mac and I have become one.
Now my title is Graphic Artist. I've come a long way, baby, and I still, after 32 years, absolutely love my job!
